Triad Martial Arts was founded in 1996 in Cullman, Alabama by Johnny Lee Smith — and has grown to three schools across two states. Ruston is our Louisiana home.

Triad Martial Arts was founded in 1996 in Cullman, Alabama by Johnny Lee Smith. The organization has grown to 3 schools (2 in Alabama, 1 in Louisiana), including our academy here in Ruston, Louisiana.
Beyond the mats, Johnny Lee Smith developed two signature programs: The Equalizer — women's safety and self-defense, and SSGT — Strategic Self-Defense and Gunfighting Tactics, a law-enforcement training and certification program. Our instructors carry that lineage forward in every class.
