Martial arts near Farmerville
Farmerville is the longest drive on our list — about thirty-five minutes north of Ruston via LA-33 — but families make the trip because the coaching is worth it. At Triad Martial Arts Academy of Ruston, BJJ, Judo, MMA, and kickboxing all train under one roof, led by a BJJ black belt, a certified USA Judo instructor, an active professional MMA fighter, and an IBJJF World Champion.
Why Farmerville makes the drive
Thirty-five minutes is a real trip, and the people who make it from Farmerville tend to be after something specific: a kids program that actually teaches, a women's-only class taught by female instructors, or adult BJJ with a black belt who still competes. Our kids classes are split by age — Little Kids (4-7) and Big Kids (8-15) — with a homeschool gi class and a kids competition class.
The women's-only program is led by instructors including a 2022 IBJJF Masters 1 World Champion, and the whole academy runs on a family-safe culture with no negative talk or cursing.
What you're driving to
The drive south on LA-33 brings you to 2321 S Vienna St in Ruston, where the adult schedule runs six days a week: gi and no-gi BJJ, a Monday beginner class at 5:45 PM, Judo on Tuesday evenings, MMA Skills and Drills on Wednesday at 6:15 PM, and kickboxing Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
It's the kind of room you want to drive thirty-five minutes for — real coaching depth, a positive culture, and four martial arts under one roof instead of just one.
